VICTIMS OF CRIME COMPENSATION

Our criminal law division is headed by Murray Gerkens, our general counsel.

Victim of crime compensation deals with people who have suffered physical and/or emotional injury as well as financial loss as a result of crime.  If you have been the victim of crime and have suffered an injury and/or financial loss as a result of another person, then you should consider making a claim.

In Victoria, compensation for victims of crime can be pursued via Compensation from the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal, as a civil action against the offender, or compensation as part of a sentencing order.

FCG Legal Pty Ltd is able to inform you on whether or not you are eligible to pursue a claim for compensation, as well as assist you with making a decision on the type of claim to pursue. We can assist you with lodging the necessary documents and can represent you in proceedings.

If you believe that you may be eligible to make a Victims of Crime application, please contact  Murray Gerkens  to arrange an initial consultation.
